LG ELECTRONICS HIGHLIGHTS INNOVATIVE DESIGN, DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY IN NEW 1080P LCD HDTV SERIES AT CEDIA 2007

`Opus' LBX Series Now Available at U.S. Retailers

DENVER, Sept. 6, 2007 – LG Electronics announced the availability of its newest line of "Full HD" 1080p LCD HDTVs, the LBX series. Nicknamed "Opus," these masterpieces couple elegant styling with the latest display technology. The Opus series, along with LG's full LCD line, is on display this week at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) EXPO (Booth #720).

Ranked by integrators as one of the top three preferred brands for flat-panel displays,* LG's LCD line now includes displays in sizes ranging from 20 to 52 inches. The top-of-the-line Opus series includes three screen sizes, 42, 47 and 52 inches, and is available at suggested retail prices of $2,499, $3,299 and $4,499, respectively.

"The Opus series blends top-notch performance with elegant design to support custom installation professionals as their customers demand the latest HDTV technology to incorporate into their stylish living spaces," said Allan Jason, vice president of consumer electronics marketing at LG Electronics USA, Inc. "This new series is a perfect combination of technology and design for today's high-end, custom home theater environments and strengthens LG's position as a leader in premium flat-panel displays."

Features Maximize Performance, Design and Ease of Installation
In addition to Full HD 1080p resolution, the LG Opus series features several applications designed to enhance the consumer viewing experience. TruMotion Drive, with 120Hz LCD panel technology, improves moving picture response time for clearer picture images, particularly with scrolling text and fast action. TruColor expands the color gamut to 92 percent of the NTSC spectrum for striking picture quality. The Opus series also incorporates the latest Super IPS panel with TruWide Viewing Angle technology to maintain a uniform contrast ratio and to minimize color shift and distortion, even at extreme viewing angles of up to 178 degrees.

The series combines the latest display technology and cutting-edge design with installation-friendly features to enhance flexibility and ease-of-use. Special features include an expert mode for custom picture calibration, RS-232 control and optical and coax digital audio output. Discrete IR remote control codes allow custom installers to create a truly unique home theater experience for their customers.

As with all LG displays, the Opus line features LG's exclusive XD EngineTM technology, which takes low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels, providing consumers with better overall picture quality and viewing experience. Six distinct processes further improve brightness, enhance detail and deliver more accurate color and noise reduction with film-like high resolution.

LG SimpLinkTM enables easier control of other LG SimpLink compatible equipment. The units are connected with an HDMI cable and use the HDMI-CEC communiction standard which allows the user to control other devices on screen or directly from each component.

All models are equipped with three HDMI-HDCP inputs for the highest-quality connection and support copy protected HD broadcast content. The Opus Series is also equipped with a USB Media Host for easy access to digital music and photo libraries.
