Chemistry with a capital C - that describes Kate Beckett and Rick Castle's relationship ever since Season One, Episode One of the ABC TV series Castle.

The first few years were a tantalizing slow burn game of cat (Kate, the luscious Stana Katic) and mouse (Castle, the ruggedly handsome Nathan Fillion).

This season catalyzed the on again-off again dance into a satisfying pas de deux.

For those of us who suffered through the unrequited foreplay of previous seasons, this year's consummation was heartfelt and hilarious, leaving the faithful audience reaching for the metaphorical cigarette.

Oh, yes, then there are the weekly mysteries, with just the right amount of twists to still keep the audience on its toes.

And the Creator, Andrew W. Marlowe and his team of writers have supplied the supporting cast of detectives and family with enough meaty scenes to make their characters three dimensional.

But it's Beckett and Castle - Caskett - that keep viewers coming back for more. Katic and Fillion's timing is impeccable, making their interplay a delight to watch - repeatedly, if you already have seen all 24 episodes.

With last May's swing moment leaving us hanging on Beckett's reply, Six's premiere on September 23 can't come soon enough.

Bonus Features

The last disc contains three featurettes, "Martha's Master Class," "Your Home is Your Castle," and "Lot Cops."

I found "Your Home is Your Castle" the most interesting as it takes you behind the scenes literally to show you how sets are designed and constructed. The tour of Beckett's loft and Castle's apartment are fascinating because of the detail that goes into them.

Each disc also includes at least one audio commentary that accompanies an episode. If I were choose one, it would be the "Hunt" episode with commentary by Andrew Marlowe, Rob Bowman (the Director), Nathan Fillion and Molly Quinn.

Not only is the episode one of the best of the season, the discussion is revealing about acting, writing, and the mythology of the show.

Of course, if you are a Comic-Con Easter egg hunter, then the commentary on "The Final Frontier" is a must-listen. It features Nathan Fillion and Jonathan Frakes (William Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation) who directed this show about a fake - though familiar - Sci-Fi TV series.
