My Experience: bought unit new in late 2005, made it till 12/27/13, had issues with pixles in center verticals after 4th year or so. seems like unit always ran very hot. I believe a lack of vents or cooling ability caused its red flashing failure
in the end
power supply dead

RIP
dont think phillips makes a bad product, just needs to get rid of the heat
going LCD now

Problems: power supply failure after 8.9 years
unit ran hot
lack of venting
pixle issues early on
way to heavy, almost 100 lbs unplugged LOL
