The elegant LNT4081F LCD combines high style and high definition in equal measure. With true 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, it creates a brilliantly sharp, detailed picture. And with its new LED Smart Lighting, the LNT4081F delivers a brilliant 500,000:1 contrast ratio. Samsung's ultra-fast switching technology and 8-millisecond response time decrease blurring, so even high-speed sports remain crisp and easy on the eyes. Plus, progressive scan technology eliminates the flicker that you see on traditional, interlaced scanning TVs. The LNT4081F's 120Hz refresh rate means no motion blur. And it's all wrapped up in a gorgeous frame.

500,000:1 Contrast Ratio

That's not a typo -- the LNT4081F actually boasts a 500,000:1 contrast ratio. How? Well, Samsung's Wide Color Gamut LED Backlight is responsible. Instead of a traditional fluorescent backlight, Samsung decided to go with LED technology. With LED, the light behind the darkest color levels on the screen can be turned completely off, so they're not victim to the small amount of "light leak" that occurs with fluorescent backlights. So the LED backlight technology ensures the blackest of blacks along with supremely accurate color.

Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) For The Ultimate In Convenience

The LNT4081F is HDMI-CEC ready. CEC allows you to link HDMI-connected equipment in a whole new way. When CEC is enabled, it allows the remote control for one device to communicate with, and control, another device. For example, you turn on your television and press the DVD button. The TV sends an "on" command to the DVD player through the HDMI cable and then automatically switches the TV to the proper input for the DVD. Then, you press "play" on that same remote and the DVD begins to play. Magic? No, just really smart technology. And best of all, it puts an end to using multiple remote controls, or having to buy an expensive, universal remote.

Get The Best Signal Possible with HDMI

Samsung has added three HDMI inputs to the LNT4081F. HDMI is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all high definition formats. An all-digital, uncompressed signal translates into the highest quality video and audio, seen and heard, direct from the source. Even if you have components that don't provide a high definition signal, a built-in image scaler handles inputs from a variety of digital and analog sources. This means the LNT4081F will scale a standard definition picture up to high definition.

And Keep The Standard Input Options

Although we're ushering in a new high-definition, HDMI era, most of us are still clinging to at least one "perfectly good" component, whether it be an older DVD player or even older VCR. Fear not (at least for now). The LNT4081F includes two S-video inputs, two component video inputs, and A/V inputs.

Performs As a Computer Monitor, Too

High definition is altering how the world does business. Thanks to a special PC input and the high definition 1920 x1080 pixel resolution, the LNT4081F does double-duty as a high-resolution computer monitor -- perfect for presentations -- without any sacrifice in picture quality. Whether you work in graphic design or public relations, Samsung lets you adapt to the expanding multi-media revolution. The LNT4081F even comes equipped with a USB 2.0 port for expanded audio/video use.

Because Sound Is Equally Important

The LNT4081F not only looks good, it sounds great thanks to the two 10-Watt hidden side speakers, dedicated low-range speakers, and SRS TruSurround XT surround sound. To make watching television even more enjoyable, the auto volume leveler keeps audio volume (and your sanity) consistent during channel changing. There's even a stereo headphone jack so you can plug in your headphones and enjoy your favorite entertainment without distraction -- or distracting.
