I just had a question.
I can get name brand 1.5TB harddrives online for between $100 to $130. Any news on the ability to swap out the harddrive in a brand new Vudu, clone it to another (using harddrive cloning software like Arconis Tru Image or Acronis Mirate Easy), larger harddrive, and then using the larger, cloned drive, as your new drive?
I was wondering if anyone of the reviewers is willing to try that out with the review model and update readers on that.
It would be a great boon, as then the reader could simply just buy the standard VUDU box, replace the 250GB harddrive with a 1.5TB harddrive, and come out only spending $250 to $280, yet winding up with a much larger harddrive than is even in the Vudu XL. That would be a savings of as much as $250, 50% off the cost of the Vudu XL, but provide up to 50% more harddrive space than the Vudu XL, should it prove to work.
Seems like a pretty reasonable endeavor, and may actually make the Vudu quite a bit more appetizing to your readers should you be able to answer this question in the affirmative.
