This was an excellent article covering the HD PVR. The device works just as described, however there is one aspect that the reviews I have seen have not addressed. That is, the record and playback functions within the ArcSoft software that are supplied with the HD PVR do not function as described in the instructions. There are adjustments for brightness, contrast, hue and saturation that do not work. The output to the TV is via the computer - a standard VGA connector(15 pin DSub). For many TV's there is no VGA input. For those that do have a "PC" input, the adjustment for brightness etc. are deactivated. Hence there is no control available and the colors are usually very over saturated and sometimes dark. A major draw back for many.
At first I thought My computer simply wasn't compatible with the ArcSoft software, and a solution would be forth coming, but I have found none as yet. I have installed the HD PVR system two computers one running XP the other Vista and both have no control of those parameters.
All else with this device seems to be just fine - especially the great HD it is able to record.
