It seems you are tech savy, as I think I am also, but wouldn't is be smart is there was a self calibration option? Something that is programmed into an e-prom or something, where during set-up it compares the incoming signal to the base and makes the adjustments accordingly. How long dit it take you to calicrate to your liking? Now add the color blindness factor, with a red green deficiency, and see if Rula Lenska would be happy with the colors of RCA ColorTrack on the '80s. Ray Charles would have said it looks "just fine".
