Greetings,

You can carbon date yourself in the TV timeline fairly quickly by answering this question. Do you remember when a 32" TV was considered huge? I'm talking about one of those CRT monsters, which weighed a ton. Putting one in a bedroom was tut-tutted as gauche. Even displaying one in the living room was just this side of ostentatious. Now, when flat panels are stretching to capacious breadths of up to 103 inches, the 32" TV no longer rules as the king of the living room. How fast the marketplace and our perceptions change.

We have posted a review of the N3251w, which is ViewSonic's newest 32" LCD HDTV, (soaking wet, it barely weighs 42 pounds). This solid performer's street price of under $1000 serves as an indication of how quickly prices are dropping for flat panel TVs – especially in the last few months.

We will never presume to tell you when or if to buy, but we will continue to provide you practical advice and tools that will keep you informed for the next time you decide to take the plunge.

Stay tuned,

Dick De Jong
