SAMSUNG’S NEW DYNAFLAT™ HDTVs RAISE THE DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT BAR

2005 DynaFlat TV Models Optimized for Digital Home Theater Performance
with HDMI, True HD Resolution and Built-in HDTV Tuners

Las Vegas, NV – Building on its tradition of value and innovation, Samsung Electronics America announces the next-generation of its award-winning DynaFlat™ televisions. The new DynaFlat HDTVs join Samsung's celebrated line of SlimFit™ DynaFlats in offering home theater options that are both elegant and affordable, while providing maximum compatibility with today's digital input sources. Samsung's full lineup of DynaFlat televisions will be on display during CES 2005 in the Samsung booth, #11024 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 6th – 9th.

"The market for direct view televisions remains very strong and digital direct view sets have more than doubled their market share since last year with the trend expected to continue," said Jonas Tanenbaum, Sr. Marketing Manager, Samsung Visual Display Group. "Samsung's dedication to customer-focused development allows us to tap that market with a superior line of flat screen HDTVs that are fully optimized for digital video, and priced at under $1,000. We have enhanced our signature DynaFlat design, creating a sleek, modern television that fits seamlessly with any décor."

Samsung's 2005 DynaFlat lineup offers a solution for anyone who wants to experience pure high-definition digital theater with integrated tuner HDTV models and HD-Ready monitors. Select next-generation DynaFlats feature a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) video connection. HDMI allows both audio and video signals to be transferred from output to display over a single cable. The HDMI all-digital transfer minimizes transmission loss and maximizes picture quality by ensuring that the best signal is always sent from source to set. The sets also feature 3:2 Pull Down film frame rate correction, which eliminates picture distortion and artifacts when film-based material (24fps) is converted to video (30fps). Samsung's Pro Picture™ Analog to DV signal processing enhances performance through three stages of video processing, to deliver the best picture quality. The result of these innovations is a viewing experience of the highest caliber, with flawless picture, brilliant color and superb digital sound.

Samsung's deluxe series of HDTVs offer a stylish new design and include the TX-R2678WH DynaFlat with integrated HD tuner. The 26-inch screen offers a 16:9 aspect ratio to better display widescreen material such as DVD films and HDTV broadcasts. It provides optimum compatibility with progressive scan DVD players, minimizing flicker and maximizing color vibrancy and image precision. A High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) along with 2HD/DVD Component Video Inputs, side and rear S-Video Inputs, four composite A/V inputs, two RF inputs and A/V output jacks make the TX-R2678WH the centerpiece of a modest home theater system. Two other HD-ready DynaFlat HDTV monitors will be launched, the 32" TX-R3265 and the 27" TX-R2765, both offering 1080i and 480P resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio. All three models will be available in April 2005. The TX-R2678WH and the TX-R3265 carry an MSRP of $699 and $799 respectively. The TX-R2765 carries an MSRP of $499.
