LCD Leader Provides the Highest Quality HDTVs to Create a True Home Theater at the Best Prices In the Marketplace Today

Las Vegas, NV – Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the leading LCD manufacturers in the U.S.*, is making owning a high-end, large screen LCD HDTV more affordable than ever with the launch of its new TX Series of advanced 120Hz refresh rate 1080p LCD HDTVs. Available in 37", 42" and 55" class models, the new TX Series brings sophisticated and improved technology and viewing quality into the mainstream at industry-leading, affordable price points.

Westinghouse’s new TX Series features a 120Hz frame rate, with state-of-the-art motion estimation/motion compensation technology, that refreshes picture images at twice the speed of standard 60Hz HDTVs. By doubling the frame rate, the TX Series rapidly refreshes screen images to provide added viewing clarity. The TX Series incorporates advanced technology that detects when screen images are moving quickly and inserts additional picture frames to ensure smooth, clear and sharp images with stunning viewing quality. Westinghouse is combining its 120Hz with video-processing features that smooth images and help to eliminate judder (a visual artifact that sometimes occurs when film is transferred to video. This can result in the appearance of jerky or stuttering camera movement).

Rey Roque, Vice President of Marketing at Westinghouse Digital Electronics, states, "LCD has clearly become the HDTV technology of choice for the majority of consumers in the U.S. Westinghouse is helping to bring high-end, advanced HDTVs to all consumers at the most affordable price points possible. The new TX Series provides large-screen viewing with an enhanced 120HZ refresh rate – at the best prices in the industry today."
