BenQ Dramatically Expands its Line of LCD TVs with Eight New Models Ranging in Size from 20" to 46"
Latest Portfolio Offers Flexibility for a Wide Range of Consumers Including HDTV Compatibility, High Contrast Ratios and High Brightness Levels
LAS VEGAS (January 6, 2005) – BenQ today announced an impressive expansion to
its line of high-performance LCD TVs with eight new models that range in screen
size from 20- to 46-inches. The portfolio offers flexibility for a wide range of
consumers, from an entry-level 20-inch model to a high-end 46-inch widescreen
model designed primarily for "prosumers." All models are HDTV compatible (480p,
720p, 1080i), and provide high contrast ratios and brightness levels for
high-quality image presentation.
Four of the new models belong to BenQ's DV Series of LCD TVs, the original
line of LCD TVs first introduced by BenQ. These models include the 20-inch
DV2050, 32-inch widescreen DV3250, 37-inch widescreen DV3750 and 46-inch
widescreen DV4680. The DV3250 and DV3750 offer a super-fast 12ms display
response time, while the DV4680 has an ultra-fast display response time of 8ms.
In addition, the DV4680 comes equipped with USB 1.1 slave/host ports, an
integrated HDTV tuner and a 6-in-1 card reader that allows users to display
digital images from various forms of memory cards. In addition, the DV3250 and
DV3750 include an MPEG1/MPEG4 encoder and decoder.
The other four models are from BenQ's new DP Series of LCD TVs, the company's
premium line of LCD TVs with new industrial designs and chipsets. These models
include the 20-inch DP2070, 32-inch widescreen DP3270, 37-inch widescreen DP3770
and 42-inch widescreen DP4270. The DP3270 and DP3770 offer a fast 12ms response
time, while the DP4270 has an ultra-fast 8ms response time and 1000:1 contrast
ratio.
The DV3250 and DV3750 offer extraordinary high-definition (HD) picture
quality through the use of a professional DCDi video chipsets from Faroudja, a
leader in innovative, high-performance video processing technologies.
The seven new widescreen models (excluding the 20-inch units) feature BenQ's
proprietary "Senseye" digital-enhancement technology that automatically and
dynamically improves image quality, adjusts brightness and darkness levels,
performs color-mapping procedures, and reduces jagged edges on images. Users
select a preset mode of operation that corresponds to the content that they are
viewing, while also adjusting sharpness settings, which significantly enhances
the display of graphics-intensive applications such as video game, entertainment
and professional multimedia presentations.
