SAMSUNG ANNOUNCES NEW APPS TO DELIVER A DEEPER, MORE PERSONALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CONSUMERS

The industry’s most robust apps platform adds music and media apps to its catalog for Samsung Smart TVs, Blu-Ray Players and Home Entertainment Systems*

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – March 20, 2013 – As consumers continue to seek out personalized content experiences, Samsung Electronics, today announced the availability of new apps that give consumers the opportunity to discover and enjoy even more of the content they love.

Samsung is taking a focused approach to expanding key areas of its content library that allow consumers to take advantage of the rich video and audio environment in the living room. As the Smart TV platform of choice for premium content brands and application services, consumers can now access quality streaming video and audio content at the click of a button.

  • FOX NOW
    With the FOX NOW app, viewers will now be able to enjoy on-demand access to their favorite FOX shows on any Samsung app-enabled device through an easy-to-use Smart TV platform. Whether it’s The Following, Bones, New Girl or Hell’s Kitchen, a broad range of FOX content is available in a streaming format. Full episodes are free with your subscription to participating TV providers.

  • Spotify
    The award-winning digital music service brings its immense music catalog to the Samsung Smart TV platform. Spotify subscribers can access and listen to the full library of content at their convenience, through their TV speakers or home audio systems. With Samsung’s new TV Sound On feature, users can also easily direct the sound output from the TV to their audio system to enhance the audio quality.

  • Univision’s UVideos
    Univision’s UVideos, the first bilingual digital network, offers the best Univision daytime, primetime, and variety programming – all in one place and all on demand. From full novela episodes to behind the scenes clips, breaking news and the latest in sports, UVideos enables the audience to watch their favorite Univision shows at any time. Additionally, UVideos will offer “spoiler free social TV,” where viewers can enjoy Univision content and comment along with others on social media, as if they were watching the program LIVE.

Samsung Apps can be found on the redesigned Samsung Smart Hub platform, which features intuitive controls and a one-of-a-kind user experience. Samsung’s Smart Hub features five panels that give consumers the ability to navigate through various sources and options, while managing all of their content in a simple, easy-to-use platform.
