New JVC-brand 50” and 55” SP Series BlackSapphire E-LED TVs Deliver Stunning Picture and Advanced Audio

The M Series SP50M-C and SP55M-C expands selection of high-performance edge-lit BlackSapphire LED TVs, delivering stunning 2D video, I.C.E.™ Smart TV apps, built-in Wi-Fi, and more

IRVINE, CA, July 11, 2013 – AmTRAN Video Corporation will soon ship the new JVC-brand 50” M Series SP50M-C and 55” M Series SP55M-C BlackSapphire E-LED HDTVs, designed to expand up on the choices available to consumers by combining stunning 1080p 2D video performance, XinemaSound™ 3D audio, built-in Wi-Fi, and a QWERTY keypad remote for easy and intuitive navigation of JVC’s I.C.E.™ Smart TV apps.

Within their beautiful narrow bezel and ultra thin frames, the new SP50M-C and SP55M-C boast edge LED backlighting and Full HD 1080p capabilities, with 120Hz CrystalMotion™ frame rate, local dimming superior black levels, 20-million: 1 contrast ratio with dynamic processing, and CrystalColor™ Enhancement for optimal picture performance.

“With these two models, we continue to diversify the TV offerings available from JVC and defy the notion that video displays must fall into a rigid class structure, with affordable models delivering sub-par performance and no features, while features like Smart TV connectivity are anchored to the most expensive 3D-capable sets,” said Drew Pragliola, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AmTran Video Corp. “The SP50M-C and SP55M-C represent an ideal solution for those customers looking for outstanding 2D Full HD video, as well as internet capabilities and streaming apps, but who, for whatever reason, don’t want or need 3D.”

The company’s Internet Connected Experience (I.C.E.™) ensure that the SP50M-C and SP55M-C are never short of compelling content, with preloaded apps including Netflix, Vudu, and Pandora, all of which are accessible via integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi access or a direct 10/100 Ethernet connection. Browsing for apps and searching within them is also a snap thanks to the QWERTY-style keyboard built into the back of the IR remote.

In addition to stunning video performance and a feature-rich Smart TV platform, the SP50M-C and SP55M-C deliver exceptional sound, without the need for a separate soundbar, thanks to Dolby Digital decoding and XinemaSound™ 3D, which employs a combination of psychoacoustic and DSPs to deliver sound that’s a significant step up from typical built-in TV speakers. XinemaSound™ 3D delivers this surprising audio performance thanks to its combination of crosstalk canceling technology, which results in enhanced channel separation and a more cinematic sound field; Equal Loudness Contour processing, which ensures that the audio is perceptually balanced across the entire sonic spectrum; and Clear Dialog processing, which ensures that you'll never strain to hear a word of your favorite TV shows or movies.

The SP50M-C and SP55M-C also feature a USB port for quick and easy access to your personal music, pictures, and videos, along with three HDMI inputs with CEC (one with Audio Return Channel compatibility), an antenna input, component and composite video inputs, and a music port, as well as an Audio Only mode so users can enjoy their favorite music channels and apps without wasting energy. Other energy-saving features include Auto Power Off and full Energy Star certification.

JVC-Kenwood has licensed AmTRAN Video Corporation (AVC) to manufacture and market the SP50M-C and SP55M-C BlackSapphire E-LED HDTVs in North America.

The SP50M-C and SP55M-C will ship this summer for $899 and $999 SRP, respectively.
