LG ELECTRONICS SHOWCASES FLAGSHIP 71-INCH PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AT INFOCOMM 2005

Company Highlights Wide Array of Plasma Solutions,
Including World's Largest Production Plasma Display

LAS VEGAS, June 8, 2005 — Showcasing a wide range of state-of-the-art plasma display panels (PDPs) for diverse commercial applications, LG Electronics is showcasing the world's largest production model, a 71-inch plasma display panel this week at InfoComm 2005 (Booth #2700).

"With the 71-inch plasma and other flat panel displays ranging from 42- to 60-inches, LG will highlight multiple groundbreaking products shaping the U.S. digital display industry," said to Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "LG's latest lineup of innovative commercial plasma displays reflects our growing technology leadership and commitment to professional AV communications and systems integration technology."

LG's flagship plasma display, model MW-71PY10, is the first plasma display to be measured in feet, not inches, and is sure to inspire broad interest within the systems integration and professional AV communications markets, Snaidauf said. The MW-71PY10 boasts 1920 x 1080p (progressive-scan) resolution — the highest resolution available on any HDTV display worldwide — which provides the most vivid and realistic viewing experience.

Perfect for premium installations, from a luxury stadium skybox to a high-end boardroom, this mammoth set features a 1200:1 contrast ratio and includes HDMI/HDCP and DVI/HDCP digital connectors. The unit has optional speakers and comes with a removable stand.

All of LG's new plasmas include proprietary XD EngineTM technology that delivers crisp, lifelike and brilliant images by taking the low resolution of analog signals to near high-definition levels through improved brightness, contrast, detail and enhanced color as well as reduced signal noise. What's more, LG is driving industry performance standards with brightness ranging from 1,000 – 1,500 candellas-per-square-meter (cd/m2) of brightness, providing an incredibly bright picture, even in well-lit areas and under the florescent lights of classrooms or stadiums.

Significantly, all LG plasma display panels have a two-year warranty on labor and parts from date of purchase – one of the industry's most aggressive programs. LG's products also offer image-sticking minimization, pixel orbiter and white wash features that reduce phosphor burn, prolonging the life of the plasma. This is an especially important feature for digital signage applications or boardroom PowerPoint and Excel presentations where a static image is displayed for an extended period.
