My Experience: Purchased this tv from Best Buy 3/2006. We loved it INITIALLY!! Everything was great(except price and weight). Thankfully I had purchased BB's extended 4 yr. warranty (which is really an additional 3 years plus mfg. warranty for 4 yrs. One would think mfg. warranty is free for first year, so you are really getting 5 yrs. total, WRONG!!). On 7/31/2009 we got that POP everyone describes. NOTHING, no picture, sound, NADA! Thankfully for our ext. warranty. 4 boards had to be ordered and replaced for a cost close to $1000. My ext. warranty expired on 3/2010. Yesterday, 1/7/2011 we got the apparently inevitable 2 POPS. Had sound, could change channels but no picture. Called BB and a QEEK SQUAD tech said he probably wouldn't repair it as we could probably get a newer 50 inch plasma for close to what we'd pay for repairs.

Problems: Never really had any issues with this tv, except for the POPS. Paying over $3000 for this tv, I had hoped to get ATLEAST 10 years from it. The ext. warranty cost approx. $400, so the first repair was covered and worth the price of the warranty. But now, who knows what the repairs might cost. An additional $1000? Be cautious when buying tvs, check out the fine print if you get an ext. warranty, and DO NOT buy this particular model (even if you buy it used)
