TOSHIBA'S PREMIUM CINEMA SERIES® TV LINE NOW AVAILABLE IN ALL KEY DIGITAL DISPLAY CATEGORIES

Line includes DLP™, Plasma, LCD and widescreen Direct View CTV

CEDIA, INDIANAPOLIS, IN – SEPTEMBER 09, 2005 – Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. ("Toshiba") showcased today at CEDIA its premium line of Cinema Series® TV products. Consumers continue to turn to Toshiba's Cinema Series line of televisions when looking for a superior picture, beautiful cosmetics and the latest technologies in DLP™ Projection TV, Plasma TV, LCD TV and HD Direct View CTV.

This year Toshiba has expanded its line of LCDVD™ (LCD/DVD Combo TV), Plasma TV and DLP™ Projection TV models to include new screen sizes and new digital features. The Cinema Series line now also features new 1080p XHD™ DLP™ Projection TVs.

"Toshiba's premium Cinema Series now offers everything in digital TV," said Scott Ramirez, Toshiba's VP, Marketing. "With DLP™, Plasma and LCDVD models, and unique new features like our THINC™ home theater networking, our Cinema Series takes digital TV to the next step."

Cinema Series DLP™ Projection TV
The technology at the center of the 1080p sets is a new Toshiba Digital Light Engine named TALEN™ X. This system utilizes Texas Instruments' xHD4 chip, advanced optics, and Toshiba's DEEP Picture™ and Xtreme BLAC™ technologies to provide high resolution with improved brightness and contrast. These 1080p models are better than just HD, so Toshiba is calling them "XHD". These models also include new PixelPure AT™ Digital Video Processing, utilizing new Adaptive Technology to create further improved picture quality, the new Radiance™ 150 Hi-Bright Lamp for noticeably brighter images and a TheaterFine™ DFP Screen with Anti-Glare Coating that results in increased detail and noticeably deeper blacks.

All DLP™ Cinema Series models are Digital Cable Ready with a CableCARD™ slot. They also include TV Guide On Screen® so consumers know what's on, and IEEE1394 allowing users to record HD programming with Toshiba's optional Symbio™ high definition hard drive recorder. Plus, 1080p DLP™ Cinema Series sets offer a new modern cosmetic design.

Cinema Series Flat Panel TV
Flat Panel TV continues to be the fastest growing display category, and Toshiba's line expands both the LCD and Plasma categories with new cutting edge features and cosmetic designs. The Cinema Series Flat Panel TV line includes two integrated HD LCDVD combination units and two integrated HD Plasma models.

All widescreen HD flat panel models offer PixelPure AT™ Digital Video Processing and also include HDMI™ digital inputs for uncompressed, pure digital video. In addition, all Integrated HD flat panel TV models include a CableCARD™ slot, TV Guide On Screen® and Toshiba's new Channel Browser™ system, which brings the "Back Button" to the TV. Cinema Series integrated HD LCDVD models include the new SoundStrip™ speaker system, while Cinema Series integrated HD Plasma models also include dual IEEE1394 for HD recording with Toshiba's optional Symbio high definition hard drive recorder.

16:9 HD CRT
Toshiba's Cinema Series FST PURE® 16:9 HD Monitor models feature a space saving design allowing bigger screens to be placed in existing furniture, and feature a two-tone silver and black design and an HDMI Digital Video input.

Innovative Features
In an effort to provide consumers with a richer home theater experience, Toshiba has added exciting new features to its 2005 line. Channel Browser™ lets consumers use a "back" button – similar to a PC browser back button – that allows easy access to recently viewed channels.

Cinema Series DLP™ PTV and Plasma models include THINC™ (Toshiba Home Interactive Network Connection) home entertainment networking. This revolutionary feature allows consumers to connect their TV to their PC and playback MP3 audio files and JPEG pictures using only the TV remote.
