The JVC BlackCrystal JLC47BC3000 HDTV is a great choice for those who simply want an easy-to-use TV that they can plop down and enjoy their favorite programs without having to fuss with networking or apps or 3D glasses - just like the good ol' days back in 2008.

Samsung PN51D8000
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Aug 9, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    MSRP: $2,299
The PQ on the PN51D8000, Samsung's top-of-the-line plasma, is reference quality. Add in the burgeoning Smart TV package of content providers and apps and this D8000 series earns our Highly Recommended rating.
Sony BRAVIA KDL-46HX820
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Jul 15, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    $1,799
I will admit that despite the feature creep, the HX820 can still be a simple TV to set up and use. And the Picture Quality (PQ) from the 480Hz, edge-lit LED 3D HDTV is what you would expect from this Sony model that is one small step below their top-end HX929 series.
LG 47LW5600
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Jun 30, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    $1,000
With the LW5600 series, the LG designers have succeeded in offering a wide range of features for the tech savvy crowd while keeping the basic setup and operation of the TV simple enough for the "just the facts, ma'am" generation. And, oh by the way, the edge-lit LED LW5600 produces some of the best 3D Picture Quality (PQ) that I have encountered. Add to that, LG's 3D technology uses the less expensive and less intrusive passive 3D glasses.
Panasonic TC-P50GT30
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — May 12, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    $1,200
The Panasonic TC-50GT30 plasma not only delivers a deliciously lush 2D picture, its rendering of 3D Blu-rays is one of the best that I have seen. Add to that a star-studded troupe of Internet content providers and this GT30 makes a great centerpiece to a home theater system.
VIZIO XVT3D650SV
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Mar 23, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    $2,498
The edge-lit LED XVT3D650SV is one of the first passive 3D TVs to enter the market. And this 65" VIZIO, with it solid 2D and 3D picture quality, has successfully proved the merits of this technology. If you are looking for a really, really large 3D LCD TV for your home theater, this top of the line VIZIO makes a fine candidate.
Sony BRAVIA KDL-55NX810
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Feb 10, 2011
Our Review
 Specs    $2,498
With local dimming and a 240Hz frame rate, this edge-lit LED KDL-55NX810 produces an impressive 55" 2D picture. I'm not as enchanted with its 3D PQ. But Sony has loaded this BRAVIA with an abundance of features like built-in wireless capability and a passel of Internet content providers which makes it a good candidate for the centerpiece of a home media system.
Samsung PN50C8000

 Specs    $1,549
With the PN50C8000, Samsung has bundled together a winning combination of top notch performance (both 2D and 3D) and non-stop features that earn it our Highly Recommended rating.
Toshiba 55WX800U
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Dec 15, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $2,199
The 240Hz LED edge-lit Toshiba 55WX800U's picture quality when displaying 2D images is excellent. And its NetTV menu of Internet streaming partners is top notch. If only its 3D performance was as compelling.
Samsung UN40C7000
3D HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Nov 19, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $1,379
The Samsung UN40C7000's rich display of 2D content makes me forgive its occasional hot spot hiccups that are still too prevalent in edge-lit LED displays. And its 3D performance is not the in-your-face experience that you might desire. But this Samsung doesn't lack for Internet apps.

Samsung LN32C550
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Sep 15, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $627
With the Samsung LN32C550, you get what you paid for, a well performing 60Hz LCD TV. It doesn't have the flash of a 3D LED model, but it doesn't require the cash either.

Haier HL40XSL2
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Aug 6, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $1,131
The 120Hz, 1080p LED edge-lit Haier HL40XSL2 LCD TV produces a highly satisfactory picture in a slender 1.2" package. It doesn't offer network connectivity and the accompanying Internet content, but it does include a unique DVR-like Time Shift feature through the USB port.
Westinghouse LD-325
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Jul 21, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    MSRP: $450
The LD-3255 does not have all the bells and whistles to serve as the centerpiece of your home theater, but its performance is good enough to fit into almost any other TV viewing spot in the house. And it's definitely light enough to tote there.
Samsung LN46C650
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Jun 11, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $1,169
With the 120Hz LN46C650 LCD TV, the Samsung engineers have squeezed out solid performance from the aging CCFL backlit technology. For those not needing state of the art 3D LED TVs, this model, with a package bursting with Internet apps, offers an attractive price point.

Dick De Jong — May 21, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    MSRP: $399
The LED edge-lit VT2300LED ratchets up the picture quality of ViewSonic's line of LCD TVs. The 23" 1080p HDTV is a great size for a dorm room or bedroom. And to wring even more value out of it, you can use it in your home office as a computer monitor/HDTV.
Toshiba 55UX600U
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — May 3, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    $1,479
Even though the 120Hz LED edge-lit Toshiba 55UX600 doesn't produce the deep blacks of its direct-lit local dimming cousins, it still delivers a big, bright 55" image that is made for events like Avatar or the World Cup. And its NET TV feature provides Wi-Fi capability and a wide range of Internet content partners.
VIZIO VM230XVT

Dick De Jong — Feb 18, 2010
Our Review
 Specs    MSRP: $399
The VIZIO VM230XVT's edge lit LED LCD display produces a rich 1080p image. The thin, stylish, power sipping 23" Razor HDTV can also serve as a computer monitor or a big digital photo frame.
VIZIO SV471XVT
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Aug 13, 2009
Our Review
 Specs    $1,059
The 240 SPS VIZIO SV471XVT improves on its 120Hz predecessor. Though both can generate a startling 3D-like image, this new model achieves an artifact free consistency.
VIZIO VF550XVT1A
HDTV Review
Dick De Jong — Mar 19, 2009
Our Review
 Specs    MSRP: $1,999
The VIZIO VF550XVT is one big 1080p 120Hz HDTV that produces a crisp, colorful, almost three dimensional, image. A 55" 1080p 120Hz LCD under $2000? Who would have thunk it?
Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 8-32

 Specs    MSRP: $3,950
The design of the BeoVision 8 is a study in counterpoint. Casual with elegant styling, it's a fun little TV with an all-kidding-aside home theater-like image and big sound.
