SHARP INTRODUCES NEW SERIES OF AFFORDABLY-PRICED AQUOS LIQUID CRYSTAL TELEVISIONS

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 8, 2007 -- Sharp, a worldwide leader in flat-panel Liquid Crystal Televisions (LCD TVs), strengthens its offering of widescreen flat-panel high-definition LCD TVs with the new competitively-priced AQUOS® D43U series. The D43U series offers 1366 x 768 resolution for true 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, and an enhanced color filter that achieves deep, brilliant colors. Available in 26-, 32-, 37-, 42-, 46- and 52-inch screen sizes, these AQUOS models can accommodate any room size, for a true home theater experience and crisp, vivid picture quality anywhere in the house.

"With a constantly growing amount of high-definition content available, more consumers are looking for affordable flat-panel HDTVs to take advantage of the superb picture quality and breathtaking clarity of high-definition programming," said Bruce Tripido, senior director and group leader, marketing, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp. "Featuring Sharp's superior LCD technology, the AQUOS D43U series heightens the home entertainment experience and brings on-screen images to life, whether in a bedroom, living room or dedicated home theater."

The D43U series features Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel, which provides an incredibly sharp Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 6000:1, and an enhanced pixel response time of 6ms to further improve the picture quality on fast-moving action scenes. With built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and dual HDMI™ and HD component terminals, the D43U series delivers a stunning experience of HDTV capability combined with incredible connectivity options. This series also features a D-sub, 15-pin input for PC compatibility.

All D43U models feature high brightness (450 cd/m2) and Black TFT low-reflection coating, so they can be placed near bright light sources or windows without compromising picture quality. With wide 176-degree viewing angles, the TV can be viewed clearly from almost anywhere in a room so that consumers have flexibility with placement.

The newly-designed D43U series is available in a chic piano black finish with bottom-placed speakers, and it can easily be mounted on wall by removing the included table stand.
