SHARP ADDS NEW SIZE TO ITS GROWING PROFESSIONAL HIGH-DEFINITION LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY MONITOR LINE

Designed for use in both landscape and portrait mode applications

ORLANDO, March 15, 2007 – Sharp today announces the new PN-465U 46-inch professional LCD monitor, which offers a new screen size for the most sophisticated digital signage and display applications in both landscape and portrait modes. The new 46-inch monitor joins Sharp's steadily expanding line of professional monitors that have been designed for professional applications and operate in both portrait and landscape mode. Also joining the lineup is the PN-465UP monitor with an integrated protective acrylic overlay. To ensure reliable operation and backlight life, even in 24x7 operation, Sharp has optimized the internal cooling with a unique fanless design and backlight system for ideal use in portrait mode.

"To stay on top of the growing large-format display market, Sharp is dedicated to expanding its expertise in liquid crystal display technology to deliver the right monitor for any professional application," said John Becconsall, Director, Professional Display Division, Sharp Commercial Markets Sales and Solutions Group. "With the addition of this monitor, Sharp's professional display line offers a more complete array of sizes that can fulfill the traditional landscape as well as portrait application needs, with superior image quality and improved compatibility, for reliability in a wider range of commercial applications."

The "future proof" PN-465U monitor has a full, two-megapixel 1920 x 1080 HD resolution with more than six million pixel elements for exceptionally accurate and precise image reproduction. For a superior picture in practically any lighting condition, the monitor features a 1700:1 contrast ratio and a 6ms response time for fast-moving images.

The PN-465U/P LCD monitors have several proprietary technologies and features that ensure unparalleled image quality for a professional presentation of information, data and images. The line has anti-glare and low-reflection properties enabling Sharp monitors to be placed in brighter areas where other screens might appear washed out. Higher contrast lets viewers discern details they might otherwise miss, particularly when viewing darker content. 176-degree viewing angles help the monitors display a crisp picture that can be seen from virtually anywhere in the room.

A Black TFT/Bright Pixel Elimination feature ensures that if a failed pixel occurs, it is effectively invisible to the viewer. Sharp LCD monitors virtually eliminate the risk of "ghost" or burn-in images that can occasionally appear on plasma and CRT monitors. The monitors can also display any content with ease, from DVD to varying PC resolutions, thanks to their full complement of input and output connectors.

With a streamlined black bezel, rugged rear metal enclosure and a removable front bezel open frame design, the monitor is built to perform flawlessly and can be customized for virtually any digital signage or information display setting.

Developed for companies looking to install or update digital signage or information display applications, the Sharp PN-465U/P LCD monitor is designed for use in high-resolution digital signage, medical/healthcare, graphics, simulation and teleconferencing applications.

The PN-465U and PN-465UP are supported with a 3-year on-site parts and labor limited warranty, including 3-year warranty on the backlight with no restrictions as to whether the monitor is installed in portrait or landscape mode.

The PN-465U is available now through Sharp authorized dealers and value-added resellers and is available on special order through Sharp authorized dealers and value-added resellers.
