Ocean Way Audio Introduces Its Sausalito High-Resolution Reference Loudspeaker System at CES 2015

Company introduces newest member of its high-bandwidth speaker system line, offering distortion-free dynamic range in an aesthetically pleasing design

INTERNATIONAL CES, January 6, 2015 - At CES 2015, Ocean Way Audio (Venetian Tower 29-334) is introducing its Sausalito reference loudspeaker system, designed by Allen Sides, the GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer/producer and founder of Ocean Way Recording.

After having received such positive responses to their larger speaker systems, the team at Ocean Way Audio was asked for a design to fit smaller spaces yet still deliver full-range accurate reproduction. With that in mind they developed Sausalito, the newest member of their high-bandwidth speaker systems. Sausalito represents a new step forward, achieving efficient distortion-free dynamic range in an aesthetically appealing profile.

As with all of Ocean Way Audio's systems, Sausalito allows the listener to move around the room and hear the same natural, open and accurate image. It features a highly refined three-way reflex design that incorporates a new midrange and tweeter. The crossover has been updated to accommodate these changes, while the cabinet features a sleeker design - to maintain time alignment and reduce baffle reflection - and new materials to minimize low-frequency resonance. The artistic sophistication of this styling is reminiscent of the California city it was named for.

Ocean Way Audio Sausalito features:

  • Components:
    • Tweeter = 1" fabric dome with ferro fluid cooling and low resonant frequency.
    • Mid = 8" geometrically reinforced aluminum cone with shorting-ring motor and cast aluminum frame
    • Woofer = 12" aluminum cone, low distortion triple shorting-ring motor and cast aluminum frame
  • Crossover Frequencies = 160Hz & 1850Hz, 3rd order filters
  • Efficiency = 85db
  • Crossovers utilize high quality components from Solen, Jantzen, Mundorf and Mills. All components hand matched to 0.1% tolerances for best imaging.
  • Sausalito comes in an elegant Hand Rubbed Satin finish
  • Dimensions/weight: each cabinet is 42 inches tall x 16.5 inches wide x 22.75 inches deep, and weighs 148 lbs.

The Ocean Way Audio Sausalito are currently available with a U.S. MSRP of $35,000.
