My Experience: I purchased this TV in November of 2004. It was quite high priced but excellent TV for the time period that I purchased it. I'm now just seeing the bulb is needing replacement. I've been looking online to see if there has been issues with this TV and have only seen negligible amount of bad reviews. Considering how many of these TV's are out there, this makes me believe there are just a few that have issues. Personally I love my TV and hope it lasts for at least 5 more years if I can get a bulb that brings the picture back to "new" condition. Obviously Hitachi isn't making this exact TV anymore but I don't think I'd hesitate to purchase another one. Although I'm never going to spend what I spent on this one again.

Problems: No real problems here. I did have an antenna hooked up as alternate to set top box and one of the two antenna connections went bad after about 2 years. That's the extent of my issues. Too bad really as I purchased an extended warranty and didn't even get to use it for anything. I didn't feel the antenna issue was worth sending my tv out for service. As for customer service of Hitachi, I couldn't very well comment on something I've got no history of having to use.
