My Experience: On December 14, 2012 I purchased a Hitachi LED TV LE46S606. Serial NO. TX2JG05244 Two weeks later the picture died. I contacted customer service and was given a Case Number: 50450 by the service representative.
She informed me that the "panel" that needed replacing was back ordered with no date available for when it would become available. She promised to contact me with regular updates. As of February 18, I have received weekly calls from Hitachi with the same information. "The Panel is Back Ordered. I'll call you next week".
I am now over a month without a working television and no idea of when it will be fixed.
