My Experience: Bought in fall 2006, installed a few months later, then in October 2009 the picture started popping, finally went out. Had DirectTV investigate, and in the meantime, sound went out too. Found out that LG KNOWS that this model is faulty, but had to have my repairman call the get info - they said they would extend the warranty to fix this model but told ME it was too far out of warranty. I told THEM that if this was a car, it would be under recall. As of today, they have agreed to look at the receipt I just FAXed to them and send parts and then we will have to have it repaired. Okay. So - the set itself for $1600 frankly does not have as good a picture as the smaller Sharp we have. The clarity of the Sharp is NOTICEABLY better. We would not buy another LG TV at this point, both because the picture is not anything to write home about compared to the Sharp and even to our friend's Viszio, and also because they are so resistant to repairing a faulty item. For $1600, we expect the thing to at least WORK for longer than 36 months. EGAD! If we had paid $750 for a cheaper make, that would be one thing, but any company that will not back up its product when they KNOW the product is faulty is a company we don't want to buy from again. Now I wonder about my front load LG washer we got about 10 months ago.

Problems: Picture and sound failed at about 36 months. Picture average.
