My Experience: We selected this TV to replace our 44” 12 year old rear projection set in the den. Since we watch DVD movies on an 80” HD projector this TV will be used for daily programs, sports and the news. After doing quite a bit of research we selected this model because it is full HD, 1080p, it was at a reasonable price and it has great response time giving it natural motion. From what I understand this very fast response time is due to the set being 120 Hz display. I know that there are other 120 HZ display sets on the market and they can be quite expensive. We consider this set a long-term investment. We could not be happier with our selection. Installation was a snap and the TV has a great array of connections including 4 HDMI connections. The TV is very easy to program and the remote is very natural and highly functional, even if it is not universal. The instructions are simple and easy to read with clear pictures. The sound quality is fine but a home theater system will make it even better. The picture quality in HD is fantastic, one of the best I have seen on any 42”. The picture quality in analog is not as good as my old set but better than some of the other LCD HD sets I have seen. If you like sports and HD than this is the set for you. Fast action sports such as hockey in HD are outstanding with no flicker, no pixel distortion and very vivid sharp colors. I have an inexpensive up-convert Samsung DVD player hooked up to the set and I get a great, “near” HD picture. The set comes with several preprogrammed modes you can select such as sports, movies and games. We went through the very easy, initial custom set up process and got the picture adjusted just the way we like it, a great feature that I did not know it was even offered. Our local Sam’s club ran this set as a limited supply item during their anniversary celebration for a very reasonable price. I noticed it is already in short supply. I think most buyers will be pleased with this set.
