My Experience: While it is true that this TV doesn't accept 1080p signals, it does upconvert 1080i and displays them in the full 1080p. I was not put off by this as I read about the set on Philips' website prior to my purchase. I have been very pleased by the picture quality, and compare it to my Samsung DLP which can accept and disply at 1080p. I cannot speak of the speaker quality as I use a surround sound system, but overall I have been very please with this TV.
