My Experience: I have had my tv for just over a year now. (of course, it's just out of warranty) As of Sunday 6/22/08 I would have rated this tv in the good to excellent category. That was until I tried to turn it on Monday morning to watch the news. Lo and behold, it wouldn't come on. Well, after unplugging it hopefully to reboot it and performing that task a couple of times it did finally come on. And it worked great all day until I shut it off again and tried later on in the evening to turn it back on. It wouldn't come on no matter how many times I tried to "reboot" it. Today I called Polaroid customer service. Their customer rep new right away what the problem was... It is the control box. When I upfront asked him if this was a recurring problem with this tv he did not want to give a direct answer and only said that I was not the first person to call with this specific problem. Oh, he had a quick solution alright, first, I'd have to pre-purchase another one at that time and then send my current tv back to California (at my expense of course)as an out-of-warranty item and they would send me another tv (refurbished) or call when I found my receipt and they would approve for me to purchase the particular part it is going to need from of course one of two of their referred electronics stores and after I received the part then I would need to call them so they could schedule a service technician to come to my residence and install the part. (at my expense also) I got off the phone, decided to price out this control box and called both numbers they'd given me. I couldn't get hold of anyone. I then called a friend who is a computer tech and he did a quick search and found the part for over $300 and a lot of bad reviews discussing this very problem. Needless to say, I am not a happy customer and will tell everyone I know not to buy Polaroid products. This will be the last for me. When I bought this tv I had no clue that it was being discontinued at the end of 2007. Whether this faulty control box was used intentionally or not, Polaroid should work with their customers to right their wrong. Word of mouth has always been the best advertising and in this day and age, it gets spread even faster. Jean

Problems: Faulty control box...and expensive part to buy.
