My Experience: I have owned this model since April 2006. It perfoms well even though our cable provider has provided a noisy signal. We have many signal losses and other artifacts. these problems are not related to this tv.
The picture quality is superb even in a sunlit room.
The setup menu is relatively simple and intuitive.
The supplied base stand is sturdy and easy to rmove for wall mount situations.

Problems: The power on/off function is a bit hard to get used to.
When the set is wall mounted, the input jacks are difficult to get to. You must dismount the tv and remove the cover panels at the back to connect new cables or make changes. Not a real problem once it is completely set up. Also , due to the weight and bulk, it is a two person job to hang once the mount is installed.

The mount for this tv is a b it expensive- about $130.00 and needs a person experienced in wall mounts. put it up wrong and your wall could collapse
