My Experience: Bought the TV in Dec 05. Lamp went out in November 07. Ended up buying a lamp from another source besides RCA, because of the long lead time. In December 2007, we started having problems with the color wheel. This part is no longer available through RCA. Yes, their customer service is next to impossible. I was told that I needed to take it in to an Authorized Service Rep to have them diagnose it to tell Thomson Group the same thing that they were telling me. The part is no longer available. To watch the TV with a constant hum that gets louder the longer you have it on is impossible.
They have decided to offer me a 'comparable model'. It is a 37" flat screen. 13" smaller, $700 less, but is comparable? It is still an RCA. After reading the other horror stories, I have to really think about this.

Problems: TV only 2 years old, and no replacement parts besides the lamp. Customer Service. Outsourced. Hard to get them to understand what you are explaining repeatedly.
